Training Camp was incredible! God worked in so many ways last week it leaves me speechless. Before training camp I was having the usual attacks from the devil that left my mind in chaos and with no peace that I longed for.  At Training Camp everything changed. I have seen the Holy Spirit work before but His presence there was undeniable and so powerful! I was nervous about Training Camp when I was driving down but as soon as I got there I felt peace. I may not have known what exactly I was getting myself into but I felt peace from the Holy Spirit and it lasted all week. It was truly an answer to prayer because I really needed it and God gave it to me. I realize now that going to training camp was my way of submitting to God and that is why I felt such peace because the devil had to flee. (James 4:7)
I was now ready to meet my squad and boy was I excited!  After getting to know everyone all week, I feel like I am already bestfriends with them! I have so much respect for them all. They are amazing people who love Jesus so much and I am honored to go out into this world with them. I can tell we are going to love each other and be the salt of the world so people will be thirsty to know God. We are going to be a magnificent team!
Besides getting to know my new friends, another takeaway from the camp was saying yes Lord. It is so simple but it ended up having a deep impact on me. The World Race staff thanked us for saying yes to the Lord in coming to training camp and for signing up for this mission trip. One of the speakers Tim Dilbeek said, “Get up every morning saying, Yes Lord.” This encouraged me but also challenged me because I must admit I like to do things my way at times. It encouraged me because the Lord’s way is the best way. It also means I don’t have to constantly struggle to find a way or try to figure things out on my own. All I need to do is know God’s voice and simply say, “Yes Lord.” This was so profound to me because it can be my answer in every decision I make. It is my answer I want to give to the Lord whenever I hear His voice. It is the answer I want to give to the Lord when I hear other voices too, such as temptations and the world. The devil has a lot of lies to say and the world has a lot of opinions but I will say no to them and say YES LORD! Saying, “Yes Lord” is my answer to my squad leaders because they want me to be a leader on the squad as a treasurer.
Training camp was indeed incredible and we did a tremendous amount of praying, worship and fellowship together. I loved every minute of it, except for the porta potties. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do on my journey, whatever it is, I will say, “Yes Lord.”
